's asking tab to send in your questions. in. jon: and this fox news alert out of minnesota where the governor just signed a new budget ending one of the longest-ever state government shutdowns. harris is live with the breaking story for us. harris? is. >> reporter: yeah. there were a lot of people wondering how this one would come together. minnesota governor mark dayton has just signed an agreement he struck with leading republicans after months of very bitter arguments over taxes and spending cuts. they were trying to close a pretty sizable deficit in their spending there, and they have been brutal on this issue for quite some time. you see some video from early on in those discussions, people on all sides of the issue. the government shut down july 1st, and that laid off 22,000 state employees, stopped road projects, people couldn't get licensing for all sorts of things like fishing and what not be, and it's a big recreational state. it cost the state millions in be lost revenue from lottery sales, tax audits, park fees and licensing fees, so on and so forth, but now they can

. tim pawlenty expected to bring in less than 5 million. jon huntsman raised a little over 2 million throwing his own money at 4 million. ron paul told supporters he's raised over $4 million. the number though everybody is watching what will the michele bachmann number be? she can transfer money from the house campaign. was she able to get in the internet and direct mail money in in time? will the number be forth of 5 million? will it be north of 10? that would be somewhat of a surprise. meanwhile, a siren for the supporters of rick perry, he's scouting out a vendor pot at the straw poll. it's our understanding perry won't get into the race until after he has the national day of prayer on august 6th. the straw poll is basically a week later. he wouldn't get in before then bupt the straw poll could be a way to see if that's the launching point and he gets in sometime in late august in time for those three debates that mitt romney and company are competing in in september. meanwhile, though there are no firm numbers yet, we're expecting a big quarter from team obama. fundraisers are pr

but not taking part in the ames straw poll. jon huntsman is the same way. viewing iowa not necessary to his path. is that a dangerous move? >> i think is it very dangerous. if you look to the last cycle and think what happened with rudy giuliani and the guys that decided we can bypass the social conservative, a fool's game. you don't gain momentum. south carolina is sitting right there and south carolina is going to bring back the social conservative issues. by the way, rick perry is a guy who is strong on abortion. a guy who has a strong position in gay marriage and he appeals to the social conservative. if he is there with the money he's a major player. >> bret: agree? >> yeah, the potential is he invites somebody else to the dance not making a big play in iowa. if he made a big play and won it, won caucus, it could be over before it started. it makes strategic sense on one level that he dumps resources in there and had nothing to show for it except for embarrassment to overcome the rest of it there is a risk there from a front-runner to skip an early state. >> bret: we haven't talked about sa
